Preschool Classrooms

The preschool rooms are for threes and fours who are ready to work in a group. Mornings open with choice time at the block shelf, the art table, the reading corner, or the science tray, with a teacher moving between them asking the kind of question that keeps a project going. Circle pulls everyone back together for a story, a song, and the calendar.

Letters and numbers show up inside that work rather than on a worksheet, which is why children this age can count out snack cups long before they can write their own name. You will hear what your child chose, who they chose it with, and where they got stuck. A couple of times a year we sit down properly and go through what we are seeing across the whole room.
